Project:  Proton Apartments

Location:  799 Princes Highway, Springvale.

DEVELOPER and BUILDER/DESIGNER:  Archie Contes of Neovision

“Modern, smart apartment living”

Bringing the style and flair of the inner city to the suburbs, this totally revamped and renovated complex of 8 apartments is now better than new.  On the cusp of Mulgrave, these apartments are within minutes of great facilities including buses, trains, Monash University and freeway as well as shopping centres at Springvale, Waverley Gardens and Dandenong. Finished with absolutely no concession to quality, these properties are set to grab the immediate attention of owner/ occupiers and investors alike.

With stunning finishes, and architectural flair, this project is another eye grabbing construction from Melbourne Developer, Archie Contes of Neovision.

In collaboration with Archie, Kate Walker of Kate Walker Design helped specify, source and supply hard finishes including stone, tiles and carpet ensuring this project was both a visual and functional success.

PRODUCTS SPECIFIED

Entrance Foyer:  Pietra Grigio marble in 610×305 honed.  A strong, striking statement for the entrance foyer, providing a taste of what the remainder of the development would produce.  A clever move on the developer’s part.

Main Flooring:  Irish Twist solution dyed nylon carpet in Sable.  Practical, yet designer in appearance, this carpet ticked many boxes, including price point.  This material is certainly economical when compared with it’s wool counterparts, but has the added bonus of cleanability and durability.

Springvale 7

Kitchen Bench top and Tiles:  Caesar Stone kitchen bench tops in Osprey. Wall tiles are 400×48 white gloss Subway tiles featuring a grey grout.

Bathroom and Ensuite Tiles:  330×600 glazed porcelain off-white tiles used on floors and walls to create the feeling of space in these small spaces. Vertical shower wall feature comprises Jewels Prata mosaic tiles.  The feature highlighted the vertical space in the room, whilst adding a touch of bling!

KWD has grown from a team of two in 2013 to a dynamic group of ten professionals who all contribute to the successful consultancy we have created. Growing up in a family with a mother as an Interior Designer and a father as a successful Ceramic Tile Merchant, it's no wonder I entered the world of design. At Kate Walker Design (KWD), our primary focus is to specify, source and supply stone, tiles and all other hard finishes into projects across Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula, but also interstate and internationally. We embrace a consultative approach and develop lasting relationships with each and every client. It’s what the KWD team knows and loves. “Design is not a thing we do. It’s our way of life.” Kate Walker
