Virgon were also finalists in this year’s HIA CSR Victorian Housing and Kitchen & Bathroom Awards held at Crown Towers on Friday Nov 10th. This Melbourne based family business won a major accolade for their property at Thackeray Street in Balwyn as well as some Runner Up awards too:

- Runner Up in Custom Built Home $1m-$1.5m
Established in 1995, Virgon has become a leader in the construction industry with properties across Melbourne’s inner city suburbs and with increasing numbers on the Mornington Peninsula. The award-winning property in Thackeray Street in Balwyn was a very special home designed specifically for a client who was enamoured with Virgon’s design style but wanted to create some bespoke elements too.
Explains John Virgona (Virgon’s Development Director), “We met with our client who had seen our Belle Mar ‘Elegance’ pre-designed home and wanted us to customise a design to suit their needs. We worked together on the template floor plans we had for the building, adapted them to specifically suit their site, and modified the design to include all of the features they wanted in a home including a home theatre and incorporating high tech electronics and home automation.”
“Thackeray Street was a turn-key concept. Our in-house architectural service created a concept based on the pre-design template, and once the draft plans were approved we moved onto constructions drawings with specifications. That’s when Kate Walker of KWD got involved, specifying the hard finish selections directly with the client – helping them with the tiles and carpets throughout their home. KWD created a very personalised interior. Kate gets so involved with every project, offering an expert design service with excellent products.
